The free Lights by the Lake Holiday Festival in Harrison Hot Springs runs from Nov. 21, 2026 to Jan. 10, 2027 along the village lakeside promenade.
The Story
Lights by the Lake, an annual holiday light festival in Harrison Hot Springs, will run from Nov. 21, 2026 to Jan. 10, 2027, offering illuminated displays along Harrison Lake.
This year’s festival features a larger slate of displays, and organizers say it is now the largest free outdoor lights festival in the Lower Mainland. While the festival continues its Sasquatch-themed focus, it will also add “traditional favourites,” including an oversized holiday train, polar bears and an igloo, along with towering candy canes.
The illuminated promenade is a two-kilometre walk along Harrison Lake. Displays start on St. Alice Street and continue to the public boat launch area, with signage encouraging visitors to go west to east on the paved promenade in front of the displays and return east to west on the gravel path behind the displays.
The lighting ceremony takes place on opening night, Saturday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m., with holiday carols, photos with Sasquatch Santa, complimentary hot chocolate for the first 1,000 people, and the Jingle Jaws Pet Parade. Organizers also plan a fireworks display over the lake.
Special nights are set for Dec. 5 and Dec. 19, when visitors can take photos with the Sasquatch or Santa, with hot chocolate and live music on both dates. For people attending on Dec. 19, the CKPC Holiday Train is also scheduled to stop in Agassiz from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m., featuring performances by the Sam Roberts Band and Owen Riegling; the food trucks at the Holiday Train location open at 4:30 p.m.
Lights by the Lake will be held at the village lakeside promenade (from St. Alice Street to the public boat launch) in Harrison Hot Springs. The festival is free and runs from dusk to 11 p.m.
