Seahawks host Bears on Monday Night Football with Seattle listed as 3-point favourite

The Seattle Seahawks (4-3) host the Chicago Bears (5-2) for Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. ET at Lumen Field, with Seattle set as a 3-point favourite.

The Story

The Seattle Seahawks will host the Chicago Bears for Monday Night Football to wrap up Week 8, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET at Lumen Field.

Seattle enters the matchup at 4-3 while Chicago is 5-2. Both teams are coming off primetime wins, with the Seahawks routing the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 last week and the Bears defeating the New England Patriots 30-24.

The latest Seahawks vs. Bears odds list Seattle as a 3-point favourite at home. The over/under is currently 46.5.

Betting markets also feature touchdown props for D’Andre Swift and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, both priced at -110 to score.

The preview notes that Caleb Williams has returned to the lineup after missing three games with a hamstring injury. Since returning, he has thrown for 300 yards or more in back-to-back wins over the Falcons and Patriots and has not committed a turnover in those two games.

On the other side, the Seahawks are described as ranking first in total defence through seven weeks. The preview also says Seattle’s defence appeared to rebound after a dominant performance against the Chiefs, and that Nick Emmanwori is back to full health.

SportsLine listed two specific best-bet suggestions: Seahawks -3 and Smith-Njigba over 29.5 longest reception (-110).

In support of the spread, SportsLine NFL expert Larry Hartstein said, “Both teams made high-profile trades this week in hopes of a Super Bowl run. I like the Seahawks at home, but would not lay more than a field goal. The Seahawks did not allow a 10-yard run or a 20-yard catch in last week’s stomping of the Chiefs.” Hartstein added that with Nick Emmanwori back, Seattle’s defence “looks as good as last year’s unit,” and argued Seattle should have enough offensive success to cover despite the loss of left tackle Charles Cross (ankle).

For the longest-reception prop, SportsLine NFL prop expert Megan Shoup pointed to Smith-Njigba’s production and the matchup, saying, “Jaxon Smith-Njigba is breaking fantasy football and prop bets again this season.” Shoup added that Smith-Njigba accounts for 51% of Seattle’s air yards and that he has gone over the longest-reception line five of seven games this season.
