Liam Öhgren scored twice as Team White and Team Blue played to a 3-3 tie before Team White won the shootout in the Vancouver Canucks’ 2026 training-camp scrimmage at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The Vancouver Canucks opened their 2026 training camp scrimmage Saturday at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Team White and Team Blue were tied 3-3 after regulation before Team White won the shootout.
Liam Öhgren scored twice for Team White. He was also described as confident with the puck, and the line combinations used in the scrimmage suggested he could open the next phase of camp alongside Marco Rossi, with Brock Boeser or Jonathan Lekkerimäki as a possible third forward on that line.
On defence, Zeev Buium was highlighted for his skating and puck-handling. He was described as breaking up plays in the defensive zone and joining the rush, with Luke Schenn’s stay-at-home presence on the right side seen as a fit that could give Buium more freedom.
Brendan Gallagher stood out for his energy, battling along the boards, racing to pucks and driving the crease. He also spoke to the crowd afterward and drew a large cheer from fans in attendance.
Elias Pettersson was hit into the boards by Cole Clayton in a moment described as “scary,” then scored the game-tying goal for Team Blue.
The shootout winner came from Schenn, who beat Ty Young with a shot up high after receiving a loud cheer from the crowd.
