Vancouver forward Paul Cotter has scored four goals and added six points in his first four games after signing a one-year, $2.15 million contract.
The Story
Vancouver Canucks forward Paul Cotter has made a fast start to the 2026-27 season after signing with the club in NHL free agency.
Cotter, who entered the league season with the Canucks after the New Jersey Devils did not extend him a qualifying offer ahead of free agency, agreed to a one-year contract worth $2.15 million.
Through four games with Vancouver, Cotter has recorded four goals, six points, 12 hits and a plus-4 rating.
His production comes after he had nine goals and 15 points in 79 games for the Devils in 2024-25.
Cotter has also set an early franchise mark with the Canucks, becoming just the seventh player in team history to score four goals in his first four games as a member of the Pacific Division club.
Now in his sixth NHL season, Cotter has played 300 career games split between the Golden Knights, Devils and Canucks, totalling 51 goals, 37 assists and 88 points, along with 867 hits.
In addition to his current start with Vancouver, Cotter posted career highs with New Jersey and Vegas during prior seasons, including 16 goals and 22 points in 79 games with the Devils in 2024-25, and 25 points in 76 games for the Golden Knights in 2023-24.
