Thomas Müller has signed a contract extension with Vancouver Whitecaps that runs through June 2027.
The Story
German veteran Thomas Müller has signed a contract extension with Vancouver Whitecaps, committing him to the MLS club through June 2027.
The new agreement keeps the 37-year-old forward with Vancouver for the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season. Müller’s previous contract was set to expire this coming December, but the extension secures his stay beyond that date.
Vancouver announced the deal as a move that will keep Müller as a key part of the team’s attack through the end of next spring’s Sprint Season campaign.
Müller said he has enjoyed his time in Vancouver since joining, adding that the city and club have been welcoming to him. He also pointed to the team’s “offensive, possession-based style” and said the “excitement” around the club and fans is something he can feel.
He added: “For me, it's still so much fun to be out on the pitch every week, and I feel good physically. I'm very happy to continue this journey with the 'Caps, and I'm looking forward to what we can achieve together this year and next year in the Sprint Season.”
Müller joined Vancouver on a free transfer in the summer of 2025 and made an immediate impact, helping the club win the Canadian Championship and reach the inaugural MLS Cup final, where Vancouver finished runners-up to Inter Miami.
Across all competitions, Müller has registered 19 goals and 12 assists in 45 outings, and he has 16 goals and 11 assists in league play. The supplied information also says those performances earned him selection for this year’s MLS All-Star squad.
With his future confirmed, Vancouver are set to play Chicago Fire on October 6, with the supplied details describing Jesper Sørensen’s side as leading the Western Conference table with 50 points from 26 matches.
