A 1,470-square-foot recreational cabin at 1C Hollyburn Ridge, about two kilometres from Cypress Mountain, is listed for $1.25 million.
The Story
A recreational cabin near Cypress Mountain ski resort is on the market for $1.25 million. The property at 1C Hollyburn Ridge is described as a 1,470-square-foot cabin with one bedroom and one bathroom.
The listing notes the cabin sits on an old freehold subdivision created in the early 1900s. Realtor Karin Morris said most of the cabins in the area were built during the war, when pioneers climbed the mountain to build cabins, and that many have since been upgraded.
Morris said this particular cabin stands out because of the way it was built under building requirements in place when Cypress Road was established. She said the municipality changed the requirements such that two acres were needed for a new cabin, and that the cabin was purposely built using three lots because each individual lot is under one acre; the lot for this cabin is 2.83 acres.
She added that the cabin is accessible by gravel road, meaning people can drive to it, whereas many of the other original cabins require walking through the woods to reach.
Morris also described the cabin’s setting as offering “a fabulous view of the city and beyond.”
The property is being presented as a low-bill option, with modern comfort systems relying on a well, septic field, solar panels and a generator.
The listing cautions that major development is planned nearby, including a Cypress Village development slated to bring 3,700 new housing units and community amenities. It also notes Cypress Mountain has development plans that include a new Nordic lodge and lifts.
