Toronto acquired forward Aatu Raty from the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday in exchange for Brandon Buhr and Jacob Quillan.
The Story
Raty cleared waivers earlier on Thursday after he was waived on Wednesday, before Toronto completed the trade with Vancouver.
The 23-year-old had one goal in four games with the Canucks this season while averaging 10:10 of ice time.
With Vancouver last season, Raty produced four goals and 10 assists in 66 games.
Raty was originally a second-round pick (52nd overall) by the New York Islanders in 2021 and was dealt to Vancouver in January 2023 along with Anthony Beauvillier and a conditional draft pick in exchange for Bo Horvat.
He also helped the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks capture the Calder Cup in 2025.
In 118 career NHL games, Raty has scored 14 goals and 29 points, split between the Islanders and Canucks.
