Damian Lillard scored 25 points in his regular-season return as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Phoenix Suns 124-83 on Wednesday night.

The Story

Damian Lillard made his long-awaited regular-season return on Wednesday night, scoring 25 points as the Portland Trail Blazers opened their season with a 124-83 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Portland took control early, starting the game with a 21-0 run. Lillard played a major role in the explosive start, scoring 12 points in the first quarter, including three-point baskets that helped fuel the Blazers’ dominance.

The Trail Blazers finished the first quarter ahead 43-12 and carried a 72-39 lead into halftime. Lillard had 17 points by the break and added to his total to finish with 25 points, six assists and six made three-pointers.

A new-look Portland lineup also contributed to the rout. Deni Avdija had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Toumani Camara added 18 points. Ja Morant, Portland’s new addition, finished with 14 points and eight assists.

For Phoenix, Devin Booker led the Suns with 23 points, but the team struggled to find answers after an uneven start and was unable to recover throughout the night.

The performance marked Lillard’s first regular-season appearance since the 2025 postseason and his first game back with Portland after spending two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. Lillard missed the entire 2025-26 campaign after recovering from a torn Achilles tendon.
