Guildford Town Centre’s Secrets of the Haunted Bog runs Oct. 9 to 31 in Surrey at 10355 152 St., on the lower level across from the play park near entrance 6. The event is free, open Mondays to Saturdays noon to 9 p.m. and Sundays noon to 7 p.m., and visitors are invited to bring a non-perishable food item for the Surrey Food Bank.
PNE Fright Nights returns at Hastings Park in Vancouver, with performances scheduled Oct. 7 to 31. The attraction runs closed Mondays and Tuesdays, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. or midnight on weekends, and tickets are priced at $39 to $59, with advance rapid passes available. The event includes seven haunted houses, live theatrical horror Trials of the Night on select nights, and 15+ thrill rides.
At the Museum of Vancouver in Vancouver, Halloween-themed programming includes Murder at the Museum on Oct. 17, Haha, History! A Halloween Comedy Show on Oct. 24, and family storytimes on Oct. 30—Spooky Storytime for Kids! and Around the Fire: Ghost Stories Across Cultures. Ticketed events are listed with dates that vary, and the museum is also offering free admission on Oct. 31 to its Press Start: A Vancouver Game History Pop-Up exhibit for anyone in costume.
Canyon Frights at Capilano Suspension Bridge runs Oct. 9 to Nov. 1. The attraction’s one-day tickets start at $29.95 for kids up to 12, $49.95 for teens up to 17, and $76.95 for adults, with student and senior pricing also available; annual resident passes are available at the same price as a one-day ticket.
MetroCon returns in Burnaby at Simon Fraser University’s Convocation Mall from Oct. 16 to 18. The fan convention has varying pricing, with weekend and single-day passes available, and it features celebrity guests including Deborah Ann Woll from True Blood and Tyler Mane from X-Men.
The Nightmare Bar is scheduled in Vancouver at the Alibi Room, 157 Alexander St., from Oct. 8 to 31. Early bird tickets start at $15 plus tax and include a welcome drink, and VIP tickets are also available with guaranteed seating; the event description says each ticket includes a 90-minute immersive Halloween experience.
SITE 248 at Meadows Family Farm runs in Maple Ridge, at 12377 248 St., from Oct. 3 to 31. General admission starts at $40, with Fast Pass tickets available for $50, and the attraction is described as a high-intensity, fully immersive, touch-based industrial horror maze across farm terrain.
Howlover at Flyover Canada is scheduled at 999 Canada Place in Vancouver from Oct. 15 to Nov. 1, daily from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Adult pricing starts at $35 depending on the day, and kids ride free Monday through Thursday; the event description also notes that costumes are encouraged and that guests must be at least 40 inches (102 centimetres) to ride.
Halloween at the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver is set for Oct. 31 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., at The Polygon Gallery, 101 Carrie Cates Ct. Early bird general admission starts at $57.94, with VIP tickets also available.
Harvest Days at VanDusen Botanical Garden runs on select dates from Sept. 26 and 27, plus Oct. 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event is included with general admission to the garden on select days, with prices starting at $13.27 for adults and preschoolers age 4 and under free.
A separate fall event, The Great Pumpkin Carve, is scheduled Oct. 24 to 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at McKitrick Park (Sungod Recreation Centre) in North Delta and Paterson Park in Ladner. The event is free to all ages, with registration encouraged, and organizers say carving runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at both parks, with creations added to illuminated walkways. The event also features live music and fall-themed games for the whole family, along with a potato fry “chip-in.”
