Langley RCMP say they are investigating an alleged assault captured on video in a church parking lot on 207 Street after officers arrested a woman at the scene.

The Story

Langley RCMP are investigating a parking-lot incident that was captured on video and is circulating online, which appears to show a woman assaulting a driving instructor while saying, “Go back to your country.”

Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said police understand the event involved a dispute inside the parking lot between two individuals, and that the driving instructor was assaulted.

Officers were called to the 4800 block of 207 Street around 9 a.m. on Wednesday. Sahak said police arrested a woman on scene for the alleged assault.

Sahak said the woman has since been released and is expected to appear in court, adding that she has not been charged and that privacy concerns limit what investigators can share.

The driving school involved said in a statement that it strongly condemns the racism and aggressive behaviour shown in the video and that the safety and well-being of its team members and customers is its priority. The company said it is not commenting further on the specific circumstances out of respect for privacy and the ongoing police process.

RCMP asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact investigators.
