Chiefs open as 3-point favourites against Seahawks on Sunday Night Football at Lumen Field

Kansas City enters at 5-0 as it visits Seattle at 8:20 p.m. ET with the Seahawks listed as 3-point home favourites.

The Story

The Kansas City Chiefs will visit the Seattle Seahawks on “Sunday Night Football” after both teams came out of recent losses and wins, with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. ET at Lumen Field.

Kansas City improved to 5-0 after downing the Los Angeles Chargers 22-6 on Sunday. Seattle dropped to 3-3 following a 17-14 loss at Denver on Oct. 15, and is second in the NFC West.

The Seahawks are trying to snap a two-game losing streak, while the Chiefs are facing an NFC opponent for the first time this season.

The latest betting markets list Seattle as a 3-point favourite, with an over/under of 43.5 points and money lines of Seahawks -162 and Chiefs +136. Against the spread, Kansas City is 3-2 and Seattle is 1-3-2.

Injuries remain a factor for both clubs. Seattle’s Zach Charbonnet is off the PUP list, but is still out and will not make his season debut, while Kansas City’s Rashee Rice remains out with a hamstring injury.

The teams have met 53 times with the Chiefs holding a 34-19 edge in the all-time series. Kansas City won the most recent matchup 24-10 in 2022.

On the field, Seattle is led by quarterback Sam Darnold, who has completed 60.4% of his passes for 1,033 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. His top target is Jaxon Smith-Njigba, with 49 receptions for 717 yards and seven touchdowns.

Kansas City is led by Patrick Mahomes, who has completed 66.5% of his passes for 1,309 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. Kenneth Walker III leads the Seahawks with 106 carries for 665 yards (6.3 average) and six touchdowns, and has 14 receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Emory Hunt is leaning toward the under, taking the Under 42.5 combined points. He cited that the under hit in the last meeting in 2022 (Kansas City 24-10) and that the under has landed in eight of Kansas City’s last 10 games, while being 4-3 in Seattle’s last seven contests.

The matchup also features two of the league’s top scoring defences, with Kansas City allowing 16.6 points and Seattle giving up 20.3 points.
