A three-day sexual assault trial for Nova Scotia actor Mike Smith began in Dartmouth on Oct. 1, 2026.
The Story
A three-day sexual assault trial began in Dartmouth, N.S., on Oct. 1, 2026, for actor Mike Smith, who is best known for playing Bubbles on the television comedy “Trailer Park Boys.”
Smith has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault that stems from an alleged incident in 2017.
Court documents show the charge was laid on Oct. 2, 2025, and that the allegations have not yet been tested in court; the documents provided in the record do not include details of what is alleged.
The documents also state that Smith has been ordered not to communicate with or visit the home, work or school of the female complainant, whose identity is protected from publication by a standard court-ordered ban.
Trailer Park Boys Inc. said last year that it was aware of the allegations and takes them seriously. At the time, the company was Nova Scotia-based and Smith was registered as one of three directors, along with John Paul Tremblay, who plays Julian, and Robert Wells, who plays Ricky.
Trailer Park Boys Inc. confirmed last year that Smith had stepped away from his role at the company.
