Jeffery Simmons makes immediate impact as Bears beat Seahawks 34-17

In his Bears debut, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons helped Chicago post a 34-17 win over the Seahawks on Monday night.

The Story

The Chicago Bears received an immediate return after acquiring defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans, defeating the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night.

Simmons recorded a sack and helped Chicago control Seattle’s offence during the victory. The Bears improved to 6-2, winning their third consecutive game since quarterback Caleb Williams returned from a hamstring injury.

Defensively, Chicago limited Seattle’s ground game, holding the Seahawks to 81 rushing yards. Seattle also struggled on third down, converting just one of 11 opportunities.

On offence, Williams completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown, while throwing no interceptions. The Bears opened with a lengthy touchdown drive, and D’Andre Swift finished with three rushing touchdowns.

Chicago also responded quickly after Seattle narrowed the deficit to 20-17 in the fourth quarter, scoring on another touchdown drive and later adding a final score after a Sam Darnold interception.
