The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation have announced JAŸ-Z for the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show at SoFi Stadium, with Hamish Hamilton directing.
The Story
JAŸ-Z is moving from the company behind the Super Bowl halftime show to its centre stage. Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation announced Monday that he will perform at Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in the Los Angeles area.
The announcement gives next year’s championship game its musical headliner, with Roc Nation also executive producing the telecast. Hamish Hamilton will direct the performance. The release does not announce a setlist or guest performers.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” JAŸ-Z said in the announcement.
The timing connects the performance to a milestone in his career. This year marks 30 years since Reasonable Doubt, his debut album. The NFL’s announcement describes the anniversary celebration as a year of concerts, immersive experiences and limited-edition products, including three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium and concerts in London, Paris and Los Angeles.
For NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, the booking fulfils a request he says he made when the league first agreed to work with Roc Nation on the show: that JAŸ-Z eventually perform himself when the moment felt right. Roc Nation remains the live performance’s strategic entertainment adviser as well as its executive producer.
JAŸ-Z arrives with a career spanning music, business and film. The announcement identifies him as a 25-time Grammy winner, a four-time Emmy winner and the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
For fans planning ahead, the date to circle is Sunday, February 14. A precise halftime start time is not given in the announcement; the performance takes place during the game, rather than at a separately scheduled concert time.
The release lists ESPN, ABC and Disney+ for the U.S. broadcast, with NFL+ on mobile devices. It does not establish Canadian viewing arrangements, so those services should not be read as a Canadian broadcast guide.
Apple Music is also launching JAŸ-Z’s Road to Halftime, with exclusive content and season-long programming developed with the NFL. For now, the confirmed story is the headliner, the venue and the date. The songs and any surprise appearances remain to be revealed.
