The Story

UFC GYM Murfreesboro will mark the opening of its new fitness club with a daylong grand opening celebration on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 205 N. Thompson Lane.

The new location spans 41,015 square feet inside a former YMCA building, and it will be the second UFC GYM location in Tennessee.

The celebration is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and includes an MMA skills session led by UFC veteran Jessica Eye, a meet-and-greet with Eye, a ribbon-cutting, and a Vendor Village featuring local Murfreesboro businesses.

The event runs throughout the day and wraps up with a 5 p.m. Country Fusion class, described as a low-impact dance workout that combines line dancing with fitness.

People interested in joining before opening day can visit the club’s pre-sale office at 202 N. Thompson Ln., Ste. B., where staff will answer questions and explain founding membership offers, including $1 enrollment on every membership tier.

Memberships start at $24.99 a month and are offered in three tiers: Access, Performance+ and Elite. The Elite tier includes recovery services and unlimited Kids Club access, and select tiers offer unlimited guest privileges so members can bring a friend or family member on every visit.

UFC GYM Murfreesboro says it offers programming for kids, women and beginners alongside strength and combat training, including two full-size fight floors for jiu-jitsu, boxing and MMA training, a free-weight area with eight Olympic lifting platforms in the building’s original gymnasium, and a separate Glute Room.

The club also lists a cardio lineup and an elevated indoor track above the main floor, along with a turf zone for conditioning work and group classes. It also includes a recovery room with cryotherapy, red-light therapy, Normatec compression therapy, hydromassage and a sauna.

Group fitness and studio classes are listed in six categories: HIIT, Mind/Body, Strength, Cycle, Cardio and Dance. The club also says it offers personal training with coaches certified through a program developed for UFC GYM.

For youth, UFC GYM Murfreesboro offers a Youth Program for kids ages 6 and older, including Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Youth Boxing and Youth Daily Ultimate Training (DUT). Youth classes take place in a separate Kids Zone with its own full-size gym and drop-off area, and children can move into an adult membership when they age out.

Carmine Grassi, who owns and operates UFC GYM Murfreesboro, is from Franklin and has spent nearly four decades in the automotive industry, including ownership roles dating back to 2011. The company says the Murfreesboro gym is his first business outside the auto industry.

UFC GYM Murfreesboro says it expects to create more than 50 jobs, with roles across management, coaching, personal training, youth programming, membership and operations.

The club also says Grassi plans to work with Middle Tennessee State University and local middle and high school athletic programs so student-athletes can access strength, conditioning and agility training.
