Vancouver police say six people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision on the Granville Street Bridge Sunday.
The Story
Vancouver Police Department (VPD) investigators are looking into a multi-vehicle collision on the Granville Street Bridge that sent six people to hospital on Sunday evening.
Police said a tow truck, a bus, and two other vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred at about 5 p.m.
In a news release, the VPD said one of the six people injured suffered serious, life-altering injuries, while the other five sustained minor injuries.
The bridge was closed in both directions during the investigation, with crews working at the scene for several hours.
Police said the bridge reopened at about 10:30 p.m., after collision investigators and related response activities were completed.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, according to the VPD.
Anyone with information relevant to the incident, or dash cam footage that may capture the lead-up to the crash, is being asked to contact the VPD Collision Investigation Unit.
Residents who were in the area may be able to help by reviewing vehicle cameras or other recordings from the late-afternoon period on Sunday, as police continue to gather details to determine what led to the collision.
