Chilliwack RCMP executed search warrants at two Victor Street residences on Sept. 17 and seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cash and a gun, with charges pending.
The Story
Chilliwack RCMP carried out search warrants at two residences on Victor Street that led to the seizure of illicit drugs, cash and a firearm, police say.
RCMP said the investigation began after they received information about a home on Victor Street. Officers gathered additional information before obtaining search warrants for two additional homes.
On Sept. 17, the Chilliwack detachment and the Crime Reduction Unit executed the warrants. Police report they found 23 people at the properties and detained them while the searches were underway.
According to RCMP, most of the people at the homes were later released, but two individuals remained detained because they had existing warrants for arrest.
The search of the residences resulted in seizures of suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine and suspected cocaine, along with money and a gun.
Police also said both properties were inspected by Chilliwack Bylaw and that “No Occupancy” notices were placed on the homes in an effort to discourage people from returning.
RCMP said the investigation is ongoing and that charges are pending.
