Browns workout former Seahawks safety Jerrick Reed II after Titans release

Cleveland worked out former Seattle safety Jerrick Reed II on Nov. 6 as he continues to pursue another NFL roster spot.

The Story

Former Seattle Seahawks safety Jerrick Reed II was among several players Cleveland evaluated this week, including a workout with the Cleveland Browns on Friday, Nov. 6.

The 26-year-old is seeking another opportunity after the Tennessee Titans released him about two months earlier, according to the NFL transaction wire as cited in reporting by Aaron Wilson.

Cleveland has not announced a signing, but Reed remains under consideration.

Along with Reed, the Browns also brought in defensive backs Austin Brown and Darren Hall, along with running backs Ulysses Bentley and Elijah Tau-Tolliver, according to the same NFL transaction-wire references.

Reed entered the league as a sixth-round pick in 2023, selected 198th overall by Seattle after playing college football at New Mexico.

In his rookie season, he appeared in 10 games and recorded nine special-teams tackles, tying for third on the Seahawks roster despite missing seven contests with a knee injury.

His early impact earned him a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie team.

Reed’s momentum was later derailed by a torn ACL suffered in November 2023.

He played five games in 2024 and made five more appearances for Seattle in the 2025 season before the Seahawks waived him in November 2025 to make room for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

The following day, Tennessee claimed Reed, where he made three appearances in 2025, including the first start of his NFL career.

In those games, Reed recorded five defensive tackles and one special-teams stop.

The Titans re-signed him to a one-year contract in March 2026, but later parted ways with him in September.

Reed also had a workout with the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 8 shortly after his departure from Tennessee, but the evidence provided does not indicate that it led to a deal.

Reed has not played since January, and the Browns’ interest comes as he looks to return to an NFL roster, with his special-teams production in his first season standing out as a recent résumé credential.
