Actor and Parkinson’s disease advocate Michael J. Fox is set to be honoured at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on the morning of October 2, 2026, where he will be promoted to Companion of the Order of Canada.
Fox is already a member of the Order of Canada, and the ceremony is hosted by Governor General Louise Arbour.
Rideau Hall says the honour is based on Fox’s “powerful global advocacy and unflinching honesty about Parkinson’s.”

According to the information provided, Parkinson’s is a progressive nervous system disorder linked to tremors, stiffness and slowness, and is associated with depression and memory problems.
