Boy George will perform at Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena on Nov. 4, following earlier Vancouver backlash tied to a pro-Israel track.

British pop star Boy George is scheduled to return to Israel for an arena show in Tel Aviv on Nov. 4, with the performance planned for Menora Mivtachim Arena.
Live Nation Israel announced the concert with tickets scheduled to go on sale Wednesday at noon local time through Ticketmaster Israel, with prices listed between 280 and 799 shekels.
According to Live Nation Israel’s listing, the staging will use a 360-degree configuration that places the stage in the center of the arena.
The booking comes less than two months after Boy George’s pro-Israel song triggered refund requests and public calls to cancel a Vancouver appearance at the Pacific National Exhibition.
In Vancouver, PNE confirmed it had received complaints, refund requests and cancellation calls related to the Sep. 7 concert, but organizers said they did not pull the show, citing an event policy of non-censorship and leaving ticket decisions to consumers.
The controversy has also extended beyond Canada and Vancouver. Boy George withdrew from a planned run as King Herod in the London Palladium production of Jesus Christ Superstar after the pro-Israel track’s release, and Bandcamp removed the song under a policy covering music generated wholly or substantially with artificial intelligence.
Boy George released the AI-assisted reggae track “We Will Dance Again” in July, describing it as referencing the Oct. 7, 2023 attack on the Nova music festival and criticizing artists who have spoken out against Israel.
In a video promoting the Tel Aviv show, Boy George said, “It is my honor to come to Israel,” and promised fans “an evening of love, positivity, and good vibes.”
Earlier, Boy George performed in Vancouver and, two days after that appearance, spoke publicly at Temple Sholom to about 800 attendees while performing “We Will Dance Again,” indicating that an Israel appearance was already planned for November.
Live Nation Israel is presenting the Nov. 4 booking as a notable return for international touring in the country, describing it as the first international performance in Israel in three years. Other Israeli coverage has characterized Boy George more cautiously as one of the relatively few international artists to book the country in recent years.
The Nov. 4 concert will mark a return to Menora Mivtachim Arena where Boy George previously performed with Culture Club in 2017, a show that included an appearance by Israeli singer Dana International.
