The Surface Laptop keeps the keyboard built in. The Surface Pro starts with a tablet and kickstand, with a keyboard and pen available separately. Both new consumer models use a six-core Snapdragon X2 Plus processor and offer 16 GB or 24 GB of memory.

Business editions bring Windows 11 Pro and additional security and configuration choices. Microsoft’s announcement gives an expected Canadian computer release of October 12 at 9 p.m. Pacific—October 13 at midnight Eastern. Confirm the delivery estimate for your chosen configuration at checkout.

Important trade-in and preorder conditions

The trade-in device must be owned by you, power on, hold a charge and be fully functional. Damage, missing components, liquid exposure, alterations or a broken warranty seal may make it ineligible. Remove password protection and include the original charger, accessories and drive. Teladvance determines eligibility and value after inspection. Recycled devices do not qualify for cash back. The promotion excludes refurbished purchases, is limited to one trade-in per qualifying Surface purchase and may not combine with other offers.

Microsoft says preorder cards are charged when an order ships or a product becomes available, although an authorization hold or temporary charge may occur earlier. Preorders can be reviewed, updated or cancelled before release under Microsoft’s policy. The promotional purchase deadline precedes the expected release; confirm your preorder’s qualification with Microsoft before relying on the offer.

The consumer Surface Pro’s keyboard, Slim Pen and power supply are separate purchases. Microsoft lists the bilingual 12-inch keyboard at C$219.99 and a keyboard-with-Slim-Pen bundle at C$369.99. The consumer Surface Laptop includes a 45W USB-C charger.

Match the device to your software.

These computers use Snapdragon processors. Check compatibility for the software, plug-ins and peripherals your work depends on, especially before moving from a different Windows platform.

Read battery claims in context.

The consumer Laptop’s quoted maximum is 22.5 hours of local video or 18 hours of web use; the consumer Pro’s is 15.5 hours of video or 13 hours of web use. These are Microsoft laboratory results, not VTV test results. Actual runtime varies with settings and workloads.

Microsoft’s consumer tests used preproduction 16 GB / 256 GB devices in August 2026, with screen brightness at 150 nits, automatic brightness disabled and Wi-Fi connected. Video and browsing tests use different workloads and are not interchangeable.
