The New York Rangers scored twice in the third period to rally past the Philadelphia Flyers, posting a 3-2 victory at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. Tye Kartye broke the tie at 15:21 to give New York the lead for the final margin, after the Flyers and Rangers had been level 2-2 midway through the period.

Adam Fox recorded two assists for the Rangers, and the team also received goals from Gabe Perreault and Pavel Dorofeyev. New York improved to 9-7-1, earning what the NHL game recap described as its first come-from-behind victory of the season. Dylan Garand made 23 saves for the Rangers in his 12th consecutive appearance, with 10 starts and two additional games in relief, as Philadelphia applied pressure late.

For Philadelphia, Simon Benoit and Noel Acciari scored in the defeat. The Flyers fell to 4-10-4 and suffered their fifth loss in six games, according to the NHL recap. Joseph Woll stopped 25 shots in goal.

Dorofeyev tied the game 2-2 with a power-play goal at 13:52 of the third period. The NHL recap said he scored on a snap shot from the right face-off circle, evening the score shortly after the Rangers had trailed.

Kartye then put New York ahead 3-2 at 15:21. The recap credited Adam Fox with a long pass in transition that sent Kartye in alone, and Kartye scored over Woll’s glove.

Perreault opened the scoring for the Rangers at 4:39 of the first period. The play, as described in the recap, began with Marcus Pettersson’s shot from the left point that deflected off J.T. Miller in the high slot before reaching Perreault in front of the net for the finish.

Philadelphia responded to take the lead in the second period. The Flyers scored twice with goals 1:59 apart midway through the period to move in front 2-1.

Benoit tied the game at 10:10 of the second period, firing a shot through traffic from the left point. The NHL recap noted it was Benoit’s first goal since March 10, 2025.

Acciari then made it 2-1 at 12:09. The sequence described in the recap involved Jamie Drysdale’s shot from the left side being blocked in the slot by Rangers forward Eeli Tolvanen, after which the puck bounced to Denver Barkey on the left side. Barkey spun and centered the puck to Acciari, who redirected it past Garand.

With the win, the Rangers completed a late-season turnaround in the game’s final frame, while the Flyers, despite scoring twice in the second period, were unable to hold the lead into the third. The NHL recap placed the decisive moments at 13:52 for Dorofeyev’s power-play equalizer and 15:21 for Kartye’s go-ahead goal.

The result also extended each team’s current goaltending storyline for the game: Garand played for New York for the 12th straight appearance, while Woll handled the majority of Philadelphia’s net work as he faced 25 shots.
