Cooper Pratt sets World Series rookie record with hit in six straight at-bats for the Milwaukee Brewers
Image accompanying the official MLB announcement.Cooper Pratt put his stamp on the 2026 World Series by becoming the first rookie to reach a hit streak of six straight at-bats at the Fall Classic, spanning Games 4 and 5. The 22-year-old’s streak began in Tuesday’s action and continued through Wednesday’s game, as he stayed locked in with a hit in each of his first six at-bats across the two contests.
In Game 4, Pratt contributed four hits for the Milwaukee Brewers in a crushing walk-off loss. Among those hits was a home run in the top of the 12th inning, a swing that helped put the Brewers in position on the doorstep of clinching their first World Series title.
Pratt carried the momentum into Game 5, adding run-producing and additional contact in his first two at-bats of the night. He drove in a run with an RBI single against Drew Rasmussen in his opening plate appearance, then followed with another knock in his second at-bat against reliever Kevin Kelly.
The six-game hit run also moved Pratt into historical company for the record books. The last player to record six straight hits in the World Series, regardless of class, was David Ortiz for the Red Sox in 2013. Pratt also surpassed the previous rookie benchmark, a five-straight-hit World Series streak held by the Yankees’ Brian Doyle, which was achieved in 1978.
By converting multiple at-bats into base hits across two consecutive games, Pratt’s streak created a clear, league-wide statistical milestone for a rookie in the most high-pressure setting of the season. With his performance bridging Games 4 and 5, the record stands as a notable individual achievement even as the Brewers’ run included a walk-off defeat in Game 4.
