Just four days removed from winning their first World Series championship, the Milwaukee Brewers received another major postseason reward: Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio were named 2026 National League Gold Glove Award winners on Sunday night, adding two defensive trophies to the club’s growing collection.

The announcement marks a two-for-two outcome for Milwaukee after Turang and Chourio were the Brewers’ only finalists revealed on Oct. 14, when the league identified the finalists for each Gold Glove position award. With both players ultimately taking home the hardware, Milwaukee added to the defensive recognition it has built around its infield and outfield core.

Turang’s Gold Glove is his second career honor at second base, and the second one in which he has been recognized as a standout defender at that position for the Brewers. The award continues a franchise pattern that highlights his unique place in Milwaukee’s history, since Turang is described as the only Brewer to win at second base since the franchise’s inaugural 1969 season.

The National League award also places Turang among a small group of multi-time Gold Glove winners in franchise history. According to the league’s information, he is the third player to win multiple Gold Gloves with the Brewers, joining Cecil Cooper (honoured at first base in 1979 and 1980) and George Scott (honoured at first base from 1972 through 1976).

For the 2026 season, Turang’s selection was tied to his defensive impact across a range of metrics cited in the announcement. He finished second in the Majors with 23 defensive runs saved, ranking first among infielders, and his 19 outs above average were tied for the fourth-most in the Majors, trailing only JJ Wetherholt of the St. Louis Cardinals among second basemen.

Chourio, meanwhile, earned his first Gold Glove Award, with the recognition coming in left field. The announcement identifies him as the fifth Brewers outfielder to receive a Gold Glove Award, following Sal Frelick (2024), Lorenzo Cain (2019), Carlos Gómez (2013) and Sixto Lezcano (1979).

Entering the 2026 season coming off an age-22 year, Chourio’s defensive development is described as continuing to show on the field. The league notes that after a “middling 2025” season that was associated with -4 defensive runs saved and +3 out above average, during which he spent most of his time in center field, Chourio produced an error-free 2026 campaign while leading all National League left fielders with 13 defensive runs saved.

In addition to leading in defensive runs saved, the announcement says Chourio tied with Cody Bellinger for the lead in Fielding Run Value at +8. The league further reported that he recorded eight outfield assists, a career high, and that his arm value was +3, also cited as a reflection of his defensive performance through the season.
