Phoenix — The Arizona Diamondbacks swept the National League Rawlings Gold Glove Awards Sunday by naming three players among the positional winners: catcher Gabriel Moreno, right fielder Corbin Carroll and shortstop Geraldo Perdomo. The trio’s selections mark the second time in franchise history that Arizona has produced three Gold Glove winners, matching the club’s 2019 group that included pitcher Zack Greinke, shortstop Nick Ahmed and left fielder David Peralta.

Moreno earned his second Gold Glove, following his 2023 win after Arizona’s run to the World Series. In the 2026 season, the league notes Moreno led National League catchers and finished second in MLB to Detroit’s Dillon Dingler with 14 defensive runs saved. The Diamondbacks catcher was also cited for leading all catchers with 2 defensive bWAR.

The announcement also highlights how uncommon Moreno’s season was relative to historical milestones. The league says Moreno became only the second catcher in MLB history to win a batting title and a Gold Glove Award in the same season, a feat previously accomplished by Minnesota Twins backstop and Hall of Famer Joe Mauer in 2008 and 2009.

Carroll captured the Gold Glove for right fielders as well, continuing a recent pattern of recognition at his position. The league says Carroll also won the Gold Glove for right fielders last year, and in 2026 he led MLB right fielders in outs above average (+10) and putouts (351). He also tied fellow finalist Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs for the fewest fielding/non-throwing errors among MLB right fielders, with one error each.

Geraldo Perdomo received his first career Gold Glove as the announcement credits him with leading all National League shortstops with 362 assists. The league further notes that only Baltimore’s Gunnar Henderson had more assists among major league shortstops, with 367.

Additional defensive framing in the league’s recap emphasizes Perdomo’s overall impact across multiple metrics for the position. The league says Perdomo tied for fourth among MLB shortstops with 16 OAA, and that among National League shortstops he was second to the Cardinals’ Masyn Winn with eight DRS.

With the Diamondbacks collecting three Gold Gloves in the same season, the awards underscore how the franchise’s defensive accomplishments were recognized across multiple infield and outfield roles, including two positions that are critical to everyday run prevention: shortstop and catcher.
