The Baseball Writers’ Association of America announced its BBWAA Award finalists on Monday, setting up a Brewers-heavy leaderboard across multiple National League categories after the club spent time with the Commissioner’s Trophy following its World Series championship run. The Brewers are represented by Jacob Misiorowski and Pat Murphy in pitcher and managerial honors, with Brice Turang and Trevor Megill also earning spots among the three finalists in their respective MVP and reliever categories.

In the NL Manager of the Year Award, Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy is one of three finalists, joining Phillies manager Don Mattingly and Braves manager Walt Weiss. The BBWAA’s finalists in each category are the top three vote-getters based on balloting conducted prior to the first pitch of the postseason, with winners set for announcement the following week.

Murphy is a repeat winner of the NL Manager of the Year Award, and the Brewers’ history with the award traces back to him in 2024, when he became the first Brewers manager to win the award. The announcement notes that after capturing a division title in his first season as skipper, Murphy then led Milwaukee to a franchise-record Major League-leading 97 victories in 2025, again winning NL Manager of the Year and becoming one of 18 managers to win the award multiple times, and one of four to win in consecutive years. It also states that no manager has won the award three straight years.

For the NL Reliever of the Year Award, Brewers closer Trevor Megill was named a finalist alongside Phillies reliever Jhoan Duran and Padres reliever Mason Miller. The BBWAA slate also includes Megill as a new addition within this year’s BBWAA categories, and the league announcement emphasizes that these awards are determined by regular-season work.

The MLB summary accompanying the BBWAA finalist list describes Megill’s path through several organizations before joining the Brewers and frames his role as central to Milwaukee’s late-game performance. It also highlights his regular-season production, including a 2.63 ERA, 30 saves and a 0.89 WHIP, along with a league ranking described as fourth-best among qualifying relievers, and it states he walked 6.2 percent of hitters, described in the source as a career-low.

Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski was selected as a finalist for the NL Cy Young Award, competing against Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez and Braves starter Chris Sale. The BBWAA announcement identifies the Pirates’ Paul Skenes as the previous season’s NL unanimous Cy Young winner and frames Misiorowski as the Brewers’ top Cy Young candidate for this year’s vote.

According to the release, Misiorowski led Major League Baseball in ERA (1.80), strikeouts (252), WHIP (0.80) and opponents’ average (.157) during the regular season, compiling those totals across 174 2/3 innings. It further adds that Misiorowski joined an historical set of pitchers described as including Justin Verlander (2019) and Pedro Martínez (2000) as the only pitchers in MLB history with 250-plus strikeouts and a WHIP as low as 0.80.

The announcement also attributes additional historical comparisons to the Elias Sports Bureau, stating that Misiorowski joined Sandy Koufax (1965), J.R. Richard (1979) and Mike Scott (1986) as the only pitchers since 1950 to lead the Majors in ERA, strikeouts and opponents’ average. It also reports that his opponents’ batting average of .157 was the lowest on record for a full season, surpassing Martínez’s .167 mark from the 2000 season.

In the NL MVP Award, Milwaukee second baseman Brice Turang is among the three finalists. The complete NL MVP finalist group includes Turang, Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani.

The announcement describes Turang’s 2026 regular season as the result of multiple statistical career highs, including home runs (21), RBIs (100), on-base percentage (.366) and slugging percentage (.450), while also noting 19 stolen bases and Gold Glove defense at second base. It also states that Turang was among the league leaders in September, leading the Majors in batting average (.361) and on-base percentage (.475) during that month.

The BBWAA preview also places Turang’s standing within Brewers franchise and positional history, stating that wherever he finishes among the MVP finalists, he would become the first Brewers infielder to finish in the Top 3 since Prince Fielder finished third in 2011, the year Ryan Braun won the award. It further adds that Turang would be the Brewers’ first middle infielder to reach the Top 3 since Robin Yount won the AL MVP at shortstop in 1982.

Winners for each category will be announced next week on MLB Network, with the source listing scheduled start times of 6 p.m. CT each night. Rookie of the Year is scheduled for Nov. 9, Manager of the Year for Nov. 10, Cy Young and Reliever of the Year for Nov. 11, and MVP on Nov. 12.
