Interim B.C. Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson was spotted attending a CFL game in Vancouver on Friday night with former Liberal premier Christy Clark, according to a report from The Canadian Press.
The pair watched the B.C. Lions play the Saskatchewan Roughriders at the game in Vancouver on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026.
Doerkson had not held any public events or news conferences since a provincial election was called on Tuesday, according to the report.
Doerkson became interim Conservative leader on Sunday after Kerry-Lynne Findlay resigned.
Clark, who served as B.C. premier from 2011 to 2017, had previously commented on the election call, describing the prospect of an election coming less than two years into Premier David Eby’s mandate as “absolutely unheard of” and “a disgrace,” the report says.
The report also states Clark said she was not “playing matchmaker” between opposition factions and was not deeply involved in negotiations or anything of that nature.
The appearance of Doerkson and Clark together at a Lions game provides a visible, informal moment for two high-profile figures from different periods of B.C. politics, coming as Doerkson begins his interim role ahead of the election context set by the Tuesday announcement.
