Vancouver weather: Sunshine set to continue through mid-October, Environment Canada says

Environment Canada is forecasting relatively stable conditions in Vancouver through Friday, with a cooler, more unsettled shift expected over the weekend.

The Story

Vancouver is expected to see a continued run of sunshine in mid-October, Environment Canada says.

Environment Canada meteorologist Chloe Katsademas said some high cloud will pass overhead on Monday, but a ridge of high pressure is expected to keep much of B.C. clear and stable for several days.

Katsademas said the pattern should be fairly similar day to day throughout the week, with daytime highs around 14 or 15 C and overnight lows near 7 C.

That stretch is expected to hold until Friday, when an extended low-pressure system is forecast to move in with colder temperatures. Katsademas said instability is possible, though no significant storms are expected, adding, “This might have some showers.”

From Friday through Sunday, highs of around 12 C are expected, with overnight lows dropping to about 4 C. Katsademas said temperatures are not expected to fall below freezing.
