Anita Huberman named president and CEO of B.C. Automotive Retailers Association effective Nov. 16

Anita Huberman will become president and CEO of the Automotive Retailers Association starting November 16, succeeding Adrian Scovell.

The Story

The Automotive Retailers Association (ARA) has appointed Surrey business leader Anita Huberman as its new president and chief executive officer, effective Nov. 16.

Founded in 1951, the ARA represents more than 1,000 businesses in British Columbia’s automotive service industry. The association said Huberman brings decades of experience in executive leadership, government relations, economic development and business advocacy as the province’s automotive sector faces a pivotal time.

In a news release, Huberman said, “I look forward to … strengthening ARA’s provincial presence and working collaboratively with industry and government to build a competitive, innovative and resilient sector that contributes to economic growth in every region of our province.”

Huberman takes the role from outgoing ARA president and CEO Adrian Scovell. She previously spent 31 years with the Surrey Board of Trade, including 18 years as its president and CEO, before leaving the organization in August 2024.

The ARA said Huberman has also earned recognition from Business in Vancouver, including a Forty Under 40 award, and is a regular on BIV’s BC 500 list of influential British Columbians.
