Kamala Harris expands midterm campaign stretch with stops in Nevada, Mississippi, New Hampshire and Georgia

Kamala Harris’ office says her final fall campaign stretch from Oct. 21 to Oct. 30 will add New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Mississippi stops to her existing late-October plans.

The Story

Vice President Kamala Harris is building out a final midterm campaign stretch on behalf of other Democrats, with an expanded schedule running from Oct. 21 to Oct. 30 that includes New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Mississippi, along with a virtual event in Florida, according to a timetable shared by her office.

The updated itinerary includes additional in-person stops announced for late October in Georgia and Nevada as well as further campaigning focused on candidates for governor and U.S. Senate.

Harris will begin on Oct. 21 in Nevada with Aaron Ford, the state’s first Black attorney general and a potential candidate to become Nevada’s first Black governor. Her Nevada stop will also include time with Culinary Workers Union members. Nevada holds the second 2028 presidential nominating contest, after South Carolina.

On Oct. 22, Harris will campaign in Mississippi with Scott Colom, who would be the state’s first Black U.S. senator since post-Civil War Reconstruction. Colom has been drawing increased attention among national Democrats as he faces Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith.

From Mississippi, Harris will travel to New Hampshire on Oct. 24 to campaign with Senate nominee Chris Pappas. The planned New Hampshire outreach will include discussion on reproductive care and abortion rights.

Harris and Wisconsin gubernatorial nominee David Crowley are scheduled to campaign together on Oct. 26.

The schedule then includes a three-day Georgia swing beginning Oct. 28. Harris will campaign with Sen. Jon Ossoff, attend voter protection events, and speak on Oct. 30 at the Fulton County Democratic Party’s annual gala in Atlanta.

While in Georgia, Harris will also headline a virtual organizing event with Florida Senate nominee Angie Nixon. Nixon, a state lawmaker, identifies as a democratic socialist.

Harris has said in recent interviews that her focus is on helping Democrats win in November, though she has not ruled out another presidential campaign after losing the 2024 general election to Donald Trump. Her office’s timetable places the expanded closing stretch within Democrats’ 2028 presidential nominating calendar states.
