Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald credited the Chicago Bears after Seattle fell 34-17 at Lumen Field on Monday Night Football.
The Story
The Seattle Seahawks lost 34-17 to the Chicago Bears in a Monday Night Football game at Lumen Field, a result that dropped Seattle to 4-4 while Chicago improved to 6-2.
After the defeat, Macdonald gave a blunt assessment, saying, “I mean, we got beat, and, um, not no other way to sugarcoat it. I think when you look at the things that it takes to win in our league, we didn't do those things, and they did. So credit to them.”
Macdonald also summed up the outcome with the line, “We got beat,” in his postgame comments.
The Bears’ win was supported by three rushing touchdowns from D’Andre Swift, while quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards and a touchdown.
Chicago earned its sixth win in eight games under head coach Ben Johnson, and the team’s 6-2 start is its best since 2012.
For Seattle, Jaxon Smith-Njigba recorded six catches for 118 yards and a touchdown, but the Seahawks struggled to establish a rhythm against Chicago’s defence.
With the loss, Seattle sits at .500 through eight games after entering Monday night with a winning record.
