The Story
The Seattle Seahawks signed receivers Montorie Foster Jr. and Malick Meiga to their practice squad on Tuesday.
To make room, the team released fullback Jackson Acker and linebacker Josh Ross.
Foster first joined Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent last year. The team says he was a standout in camp this year and made the initial 53-man roster.
Seattle also says Foster appeared in one game this season, then was waived on Saturday to make room for Anthony Bradford to be activated from injured reserve.
Meiga is an undrafted rookie out of Coastal Carolina. The Seahawks say he initially signed to Seattle’s practice squad in September, then was released earlier this month.
Seattle reports that Meiga spent training camp with the Carolina Panthers after signing as an undrafted free agent.
Before moving to Coastal Carolina for two seasons, the Seahawks say Meiga started his college career at Penn State.
The team also says Meiga was born in the Ivory Coast and raised in Montreal.
In addition, Seattle states Meiga was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the second round of this year’s CFL draft.
