Masset RCMP say they seized drugs and cash in early October after multiple search warrants were served in the village of Masset.
The Story
Masset RCMP seized a large amount of drugs and cash in early October after multiple search warrants were served throughout the village.
Police said the investigation began in May and led to information that drug trafficking was being run out of two homes—one on the 1500-block of Burgess Avenue in Masset and another on the 100-block of Raven Avenue in Old Masset.
In a joint operation with the North District Emergency Response Team, warrants were served on the residences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
RCMP said officers seized drug trafficking paraphernalia from one home and, from the other, about $11,000 in cash and more than 200 grams of cocaine.
Police also seized a vehicle they believed was connected to the alleged drug trafficking operation.
RCMP said one man was arrested and has been released pending the results of drug testing and charge approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
