A film crew was assembled in Mount Pleasant on Oct. 15 to shoot a pilot for the new series Lex, starring Jenny Slate and Dylan O’Brien.
The Story
A film crew was assembled on Thursday morning, Oct. 15, around 9 a.m. at the intersection of W 4th Avenue and Manitoba Street in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Several cars appeared to be involved in the shoot, lined up along W 4th Avenue in both directions.
The filming required police to block off public vehicle traffic from entering the area while production took place. A staff member on set said the shoot was for a pilot for a new series called Lex.
Lex is directed by Josh Greenbaum, according to Creative BC. Greenbaum is also behind the 2026 film The Dink and the upcoming Space Balls: The New One, described as a long-removed sequel to the 1987 classic Space Balls.
The series stars Jenny Slate and Dylan O’Brien. Slate’s credits listed alongside the project include Zootopia 2, The Great North, Big Mouth, Dying for Sex and SNL, while O’Brien’s are listed as Send Help, Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner.
According to the supplied information, Lex is produced by 20th Television, with local production by Stage 49 Ltd. No release date was provided for Lex.
