Chicago closed out a 34–17 win over Seattle at Lumen Field with D’Andre Swift scoring three rushing touchdowns.
The Story
The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks 34–17 at Lumen Field, with D’Andre Swift scoring three rushing touchdowns to power the win after Seattle made a late push.
Chicago carried a 20–9 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Seahawks quickly tightened the game. A fumble by Bears tight end Colston Loveland led to a turnover forced and recovered by DeMarcus Lawrence, and Seattle scored to pull within one at 20–17, including a touchdown from Cooper Kupp followed by a two-point conversion to Tory Horton.
The Bears responded by extending their lead, pushing it to 27–17. On a critical third-and-nine, Kalif Raymond broke free for a 39-yard gain after Caleb Williams sent a backward pass his way, setting up Swift’s next touchdown, and Chicago later added another score to finish 34–17.
Swift finished with 27 carries for 69 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards and one touchdown, completing 24 of 34 passes without throwing an interception.
Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 188 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, with his late touchdown also coming after the Seahawks recovered points off turnovers. Darnold connected with Kupp for a seven-yard touchdown and found Horton for the two-point conversion earlier in the fourth.
A key defensive sequence helped seal the result. Austin Booker tipped Darnold’s pass, and James Lynch intercepted it, returning it 16 yards to Seattle’s six-yard line. Swift then scored his third touchdown with 4:41 remaining to extend Chicago’s lead to 34–17.
Booker also contributed earlier on special teams and defence, getting a hand on a 33-yard field-goal attempt by Jason Myers to prevent Seattle from adding three points. On the Bears’ defensive front, Jeffery Simmons made his debut after arriving from the Tennessee Titans, recording a sack on Seattle’s opening drive, another tackle for loss, and finishing with six tackles and a pass defended.
The Seahawks were held to 252 total yards and converted only one of their 11 third-down attempts as Chicago closed the game out, including two additional touchdowns after Seattle cut the deficit to 20–17.
