Castlegar RCMP are investigating a break and enter and theft at a business on Columbia Avenue near 15th Street that occurred shortly after midnight on Oct. 7.
The Story
Castlegar RCMP say they are investigating a break and enter and theft at a local business that took place last week.
Police said the theft occurred on Oct. 7, just after midnight, on Columbia Avenue near 15th Street, when multiple sets of tires and rims were stolen.
The value of the stolen goods is more than $10,000, RCMP said. Items taken included satin black 18-inch Toyota alloy rims, Michelin X-Ice Snow tires (235/60R18), and Toyo Observe GSi6 LS tires (235/60R18).
RCMP said two vehicles captured on CCTV may have been involved. One is described as an older-model, light-coloured RV with blue pinstriping, carrying bicycles on the rear door and with a red bag or other item on the roof.
The second vehicle is described as a small, light-coloured SUV.
Castlegar RCMP are asking the public for help identifying the suspect vehicles, including anyone who may have seen them in the area during the early morning hours of Oct. 7 or who may have dash camera footage.
In a statement, Cpl. Brett Urano, Media Relations Officer for the Castlegar RCMP, said, “We are asking anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the area during the early morning hours of October 7, or who may have dash camera footage, to contact police. Even information that may seem minor could be valuable to investigators.”
