Vancouver Police have laid charges against Daryl Silas Hunt, 64, following two alleged South Vancouver break-ins on Thursday morning.
The Story
Police say the first incident happened at about 9:45 a.m., when a man allegedly removed a screen from a window to gain access to a home near East 49th Avenue and McKinnon Street. The resident heard noises, confronted the man, and the suspect left without taking any property.
About half an hour later, police report that a man matching the same description broke a window to enter a home near West 48th Avenue and Ontario Street. Officers say the man allegedly stole multiple items.
The VPD deployed its Canine Unit, located a man fitting the description and arrested him.
Hunt is facing one count of attempted break and enter and one count of break and enter. Police say he may be responsible for more break-ins in Vancouver. Hunt is currently in custody until his next court appearance on Oct. 15.
