Chicago Sun-Times experts published score predictions for the Bears’ Week 8 Monday Night Football matchup with the defending champion Seahawks.
The Story
Several Chicago Sun-Times writers offered their projected results for the Bears’ Monday Night Football game against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks, all forecasting close games at Seattle.
Patrick Finley picked the Seahawks to win 20-17, pointing to the last regular-season Bears game in Seattle being affected by three inches of snow and noting Nick Foles led Chicago to a victory. Finley listed a current season record of 3-4.
Jason Lieser also selected the Seahawks, 24-20, saying the defending champs look like they are back on track after dominating the Chiefs in a recent prime-time matchup. Lieser put Seattle’s season record at 4-3.
Scoop Jackson went with the Bears, 32-30, arguing that while the defending champs have already lost only one game they were not expected to lose, they have a chance to limit how many predicted wins fail to hold. Jackson listed a season record of 3-4.
Steve Greenberg predicted a Seahawks win, 24-19, calling the game the Bears’ toughest test of the season and citing Seattle’s top-ranked defense that held the previously unbeaten Chiefs to three points in their last outing. Greenberg put the Seahawks’ season record at 5-2.
Jeff Agrest selected the Seahawks, 24-14, focusing on Caleb Williams’ passing production, saying Williams has posted passer ratings above 110 in three of his four games and that the outlier was a 56.2 mark against the Vikings’ now-second-ranked defense. Agrest forecast that facing Seattle’s top-ranked defense in one of the toughest venues for opponents will produce a similar outcome, and listed a season record of 3-4.
