Rogers-owned 104.9 FM in Vancouver has rebranded as KiSS West Coast, adding newer music while keeping the same on-air lineup and KiSS branding.
The Story
Vancouver’s 104.9 FM station has changed its on-air identity again, moving from Kiss Throwback to KiSS West Coast, according to recent updates to its branding. The rebrand is described as a small tweak rather than a full format overhaul, with the same on-air staff and the KiSS brand remaining in place.
The station’s previous lineup focused on hits from earlier decades, especially the 1990s and 2000s. Under the KiSS West Coast name, the station’s programming adds newer music alongside the throwbacks, and its updated tagline is “The Biggest Hits, The Best Throwbacks.”
The KiSS West Coast branding is also being broadcast in other markets in the region, including 92.5 FM in Abbotsford and 107.5 FM in Chilliwack, extending the same brand across multiple frequencies.
The latest change comes shortly after an announcement that Vancouver Canucks games would be broadcast by the KiSS station. The station’s recent branding history shows a rapid sequence of repositions: Kiss Throwbacks had been in place for about a year after replacing SONiC in the summer of 2025, and SONiC had replaced KiSS 104.9 FM in 2022.
KiSS is a radio brand used across Canada, including stations in cities such as Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Programs referenced in the coverage as airing across the network include “The Roz and Mocha Show” and “The Jeff Holland Show.”
