The Japanese bento and teishoku spot says a second Vancouver location will open in Kerrisdale on West 41st Avenue soon.

Bento Cafe YVR, a Vancouver café focused on Japanese bento-style meals, says it is preparing a second location in Kerrisdale, with a new address listed at 2156 West 41st Avenue.
The restaurant currently has a location at 1822 West 1st Ave. Its announcement indicates the Kerrisdale opening is expected “soon,” with no official opening date provided at the time of the update.
Bento Cafe’s menu centres on teishoku set meals, which the café describes as a balanced format typically including rice, soup, a side dish and a main dish. The teishoku approach is also positioned as the foundation of the café’s daily dining concept.
Like many bento-focused eateries, the café says it updates offerings seasonally and notes that pricing is generally around $27. The café also offers an add-on for drinks, described as an extra $3.
Alongside teishoku, Bento Cafe also lists yoshoku items, a category the café describes as Japanese flavours shaped by Western influences. The café describes its yoshoku lineup as combining familiar elements with ingredients used to create “uniquely Japanese flavours.”
The café’s latest summer menu update includes two highlighted options at $27 each: a grilled salted mackerel set and an onigiri and ton jiru set. The drink add-on is again described as an additional $3.
Earlier menu items referenced in the café’s update include a teriyaki chicken bowl, which the café says was part of its spring menu announcement. The menu’s rotating nature is a key part of how the café explains its offerings to diners.
Bento Cafe also indicates that customers can follow its Instagram account for updates as the Kerrisdale location approaches opening. The café’s social account is described as the channel for “stay tuned” style announcements.
