The Story
Circus Osorio Mexico is scheduled to return to Lansdowne Centre in Richmond from Thursday, Oct. 7, to Monday, Oct. 12.
The show includes acts such as jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, magicians and illusionists, along with a motorcycle act where drivers go over 70 km/h and a performance called K-pop Warriors.
According to the circus’ promotion, the program incorporates Latino heritage through Latino music and Mexican performers. Co-owner Francisco Osorio described the show by saying, “It's like hot sauce, like spicy.”
Circus Osorio Mexico is co-owned by three brothers: Francisco, Leoncio Enrique and Roberto Carlos Osorio.
The circus says its business first began in Mexico in 1927 with great-grandfather Osorio and his family. Years later, the Osorio family immigrated to the U.S., and the three brothers pursued careers in the circus business before opening their own circus.
Tickets are still available and can be bought in-person or online. Ticket prices are $10 for kids under 10 and $30 for 11-year-olds and older, including adults, with family packs and VIP seating also available.
The promotion says there will be some price discounts on opening night, and that all sales are cash only with ATMs onsite.
