Seattle drove 65 yards on nine plays in the fourth quarter to extend its lead and finish a 20-3 win over Kansas City.
The Story
Seattle’s Sunday Night Football win over the Kansas City Chiefs ended with a late drive that took just 4:46 and finished with Emanuel Wilson scoring on a 21-yard touchdown run.
According to the Seahawks’ game summary, the defence kept Kansas City from reaching the end zone throughout the game, leaving Seattle up 13-3 entering the fourth quarter.
After the Chiefs missed a field goal, Seattle took over at its own 35-yard line and advanced 65 yards in nine plays to close out the game. The drive began when Sam Darnold connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 14-yard gain.
Emanuel Wilson carried the ball twice for six and three yards before AJ Barner converted a third-and-1 “Barn Yard” carry. Wilson then added three more carries on the drive for 10 yards total before finding space for the 21-yard touchdown run.
Jason Myers’ extra-point made the score 20-3, completing the drive and giving Seattle a second touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Head coach Mike Macdonald said the team identified areas to improve during the week and that watching its “self-scout tape” left him “more enthused with our ability to be able to run the ball,” adding, “So I think you saw the result of that, of us taking a step.”
