Neverland Tea Salon says its final high tea will be served on Dec. 31 at its Kitsilano location

Neverland Tea Salon in Kitsilano says it will serve its last high tea on Dec. 31 before the building is demolished.

The Story

On Dec. 31, Neverland Tea Salon in Kitsilano will serve its final high tea, according to a statement posted on the tea shop’s website.

The statement says the shop has “cherished everyone’s celebrations and life moments” during more than 13 years in the neighbourhood. It also says the closure is tied to the property’s next stage: “For the curious — our lease is up” and “The building is scheduled for demolition.”

Neverland Tea Salon opened in 2013 by childhood friends Terri Tatchell and Renee Iaci, who brought their film and theatre experience to a cafe at 3066 W Broadway. The shop’s high teas are often themed, and the statement notes that one current theme is based on Tinkerbell.

The tea salon offers daily high tea from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and it also serves lunches on weekdays until Dec. 8, according to the information provided by the shop.

A development application from 2024 describes a four-storey building from 3048 to 3080 West Broadway that would include 61 residential units and a grocery store. The same source says a permit was issued in May 2026.

In the final post, the shop ends with a call to move on: “In the words of Peter Pan, It’s time to find a new awfully big adventure!”
