Teck Resources says its third-quarter profit attributable to shareholders increased to $1.59 billion on higher copper and zinc prices.
The Story
Teck Resources Ltd. reported its third-quarter profit rose compared with the same quarter a year earlier, crediting higher copper and zinc prices for the improvement. The Vancouver-based miner said profit attributable to shareholders totalled $1.59 billion, or $3.24 per diluted share, up from $281 million, or 57 cents per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2025.
On an adjusted basis, Teck said it earned $1.88 per diluted share in the latest quarter, compared with an adjusted profit of 76 cents per diluted share a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter totalled $4.52 billion, up from $3.39 billion in the third quarter of 2025.
The company also reported that about 1,200 workers represented by the United Steelworkers began a strike at Teck’s Highland Valley Copper mine over the weekend. Teck has said operations are continuing at reduced capacity, while the impact on production will depend on how long the job action lasts.
