Prince Andrew files High Court bid to quash warrants behind searches of his residences

A judicial spokesperson says Britain’s former Prince Andrew has filed a claim with the High Court to quash warrants that led to searches of his residences.

The Story

Britain’s former Prince Andrew has filed a legal action to quash warrants that led to searches of his residences, according to a judicial spokesperson.

The spokesperson said Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor filed a claim with the High Court in London, with a hearing scheduled for Thursday.

The judicial spokesperson’s confirmation followed reporting from the Daily Telegraph that Mountbatten-Windsor was claiming searches conducted by Thames Valley Police may have broken the law.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been granted permission to challenge whether the force acted lawfully over searches relating to his arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, after allegations that he shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein during his time as the U.K.’s trade envoy.

The former prince was stripped of his titles and evicted from his royal residence by King Charles III after pressure to act over his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
