Porter Airlines will operate nonstop flights from Vancouver International Airport to London International Airport starting April 12, 2027, with service listed at 11 times weekly.
The Story
Porter Airlines will introduce nonstop flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to London International Airport (YXU) starting April 12, 2027, reviving a direct option for travellers after more than a year without it, according to a press release.
The route is described as the only direct service from Vancouver to London, Ont., with Air Canada and WestJet currently offering connecting flights through Calgary and Toronto. Flair Airlines previously offered seasonal nonstop service on the route, but it discontinued flights in September 2025.
The YVR–London, Ont. flights are scheduled to operate 11 times weekly on the Embraer E195-E2, which is listed as having 132 seats, including 16 PorterReserve seats, 20 PorterClassic Stretch seats, and 96 PorterClassic seats.
Porter says each seat on the aircraft has a power outlet. The airline also advertises its PorterReserve package as including extra-legroom seating at the front of the cabin, dedicated check-in and boarding, two included checked bags, and complimentary fresh meals and premium cocktails on longer routes.
For passengers who choose PorterClassic, Porter says travellers can select options à la carte. The airline says one-way trips on the new route start for as little as $386.88 in PorterClassic.
Porter also says the London, Ont. launch is part of spring 2027 domestic expansion out of YVR that will include direct flights connecting London with Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal-MET and Ottawa. It describes the Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET) as located about 30 minutes from downtown and says it provides a “premium waiting lounge environment” that is “fast and easy to navigate from check-in to boarding.”
