Former Vancouver Canucks winger Jack Skille has been named the new head coach of the Glasgow Clan in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League.
The Story
Jack Skille has been named the new head coach of the Glasgow Clan, the team announced in a press release.
Glasgow plays in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League and has lost eight straight games in regulation to begin the campaign.
In the release, Skille said, "I am honoured to be a part of the Glasgow Clan family. My wife and I are excited for this new chapter together. Throughout the interview process, it was clear to me that the culture and overall vision of the Glasgow Clan align entirely with mine."
To take the Clan’s head coaching role, Skille will leave his current job as an assistant coach with the Schwenninger Wild Wings.
The Wild Wings have played 13 games this season and sit 11th in the DEL standings. The 2026-27 Wild Wings roster includes two players with connections to Vancouver, Joacim Eriksson and Curtis Valk.
Skille’s only season with the Canucks came in 2016-17, when he was signed as a free agent and recorded nine points in five games. After that year, he moved to the KHL and later retired with EC Salzburg following the 2020-21 season.
