Anthony Scaramucci says Mark Carney “leads the west” amid Canada–U.S. trade tensions

Anthony Scaramucci said Prime Minister Mark Carney now “leads the west” while discussing Canada–U.S. relations during the Trump trade war.

The Story

Anthony Scaramucci said Canada and the United States are in their worst period of relations “in the modern age,” as tensions rise since U.S. President Donald Trump began a trade war.

Speaking in an interview with Caryn Ceolin, Scaramucci discussed how Americans view the trade war and how Canadians’ views of the U.S. have shifted.

He also addressed criticism from some U.S. politicians and commentators about Prime Minister Mark Carney’s handling of the relationship, while saying others welcome Carney’s approach.

Scaramucci, a former White House communications director and managing partner at Skybridge Capital, said Carney now “leads the west.”
