The Tampa Bay Lightning host the Vancouver Canucks at 4 p.m. ET Saturday after beating Seattle 4-2 on Thursday.
The Story
The Tampa Bay Lightning will return to home ice Saturday afternoon when they host the Vancouver Canucks at Benchmark International Arena.
Tampa Bay picked up a 4-2 win over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday, with Linus Karlsson scoring for Vancouver, while Elias Pettersson, Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel and Pontus Holmberg were credited with goals in the game as listed in the official scoring record.
For captain Victor Hedman, the season has been limited by injuries, and he has scored once in 33 games. The source notes he stepped away from the team in March to address his mental health while dealing with performance anxiety.
Brandon Hagel said after Thursday’s game that the team looks out for Hedman and credited his leadership to the group.
Saturday’s matchup comes as the Lightning seek a better stretch on the power play. Tampa Bay ranks 32nd in the league seven games into the season and went 0-for-3 against Seattle on Thursday, while the Canucks’ penalty kill is listed as 31st in the NHL.
The Lightning will also manage lineup decisions after listing Charle-Edouard D’Astous and Gage Goncalves as healthy scratches in the previous game. D’Astous could draw back in Saturday as Tampa Bay continues to rotate its eight defensemen, with Jon Cooper also able to use a 12-forward, six-defenseman structure depending on matchups.
