Blazers grades after two weeks: Lillard, Henderson, Camara, Avdija and Clingan

After seven games to start the season, the Portland Trail Blazers are 6-1, and a starter-by-starter review after two weeks assigned the following grades.

The Story

The Portland Trail Blazers have started the season with a conference-best 6-1 record, leading the Western Conference through seven games. A review of the play of each Portland starter after two weeks assigned grades for the team’s five starters: Damian Lillard, Scoot Henderson, Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija and Donovan Clingan.

Damian Lillard received an A- grade. The review noted Lillard is averaging 20.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 29.7 minutes per game, and that his production comes in his first season back from a torn Achilles. The review also said Lillard led Portland with 25 points in an upset win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night and has scored 20 points in five of Portland’s seven games.

Scoot Henderson received a D grade in the review. It said Henderson took over as Portland’s starter following the injury to Ja Morant, and that his early contract-year production has been lower than the rest of the starting group. The review cited 32.8 percent shooting from the field and 20.0 percent from 3-point range, along with averages of 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Toumani Camara received an A grade. The review described him as Portland’s top perimeter defender among the starting rotation and credited his 3-and-D impact through seven games, including 47.1 percent shooting on 7.3 attempts from beyond the arc per night. The review said Camara is averaging 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game with one steal a night, and added that Portland ranks 11th in 3-point shooting this season.

Deni Avdija received an A grade. The review said Avdija reached his potential in his second season with the Blazers in 2025-26, earning his first All-Star bid, and carried that into the 2026-27 start. It reported Avdija leads Portland in scoring and assists with averages of 23.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists while shooting 47.8 percent from the field, and it noted he posted a season-high 12 assists against Denver during a second-half comeback.

Donovan Clingan received an A grade. The review said Clingan ranks fourth in the league in blocks at 2.4 per game and is one of four players averaging at least 10.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. It also said his recent stretch has included 3.0 blocks per game over his last three games while averaging 14.0 points and 11.5 rebounds during that span.
